“You’re off to great places, today is your day! Your mountain is waiting,

so get on your way!” – Dr. Seuss.

We knew from the moment the last bell rang that these past two months of summer would fly by faster than a hummingbird sneaking nectar from your front porch bird feeder. Now with rosy cheeks, hip new clothes and backpacks filled with all the necessities, we send our children on the bus for their first weeks of a new school year.

The days are becoming shorter and the mornings are cool and crisply scented with autumn dew. The first few weeks of school for everyone- from parents, to young children, to high schoolers and college students is a big change.

Here at Artisan Electric we believe that all types of education are important! As much as we love the summer, the beach, and of course all of the ice cream, we also love the Back to School Time!

Here are three great tips to help you ease into it.

1) Remind them you're in their corner

Going back to school or starting a new one can cause a lot of jitters. A great way to ease the nerves is reminders that you as a parent or guardian are always there. It doesn’t have to be extravagant. A small note in the lunch box or their favorite snack when you pick them up from school. Every little bit counts! It is small aspects like this that can really reduce nervousness.

2) Schedule, schedule, schedule

This is a great tip for parents and high school/ college students. Going two months with no homework, classes, or a schedule is paradise, however, it can be hard to get back into the swing of a scheduled life. We suggest buying a small planner or a calendar to keep track of assignments or classes throughout the week. This will help get you back on track and make the transition much smoother.

3) Don’t Live for the Weekends

Don’t dread every day of the week leading up to the weekend. Life is too short to only look forward to two days and drag through the other five. Enjoy the week and enjoy your education. Every day you learn something new is a great day!

From your friends at Artisan Electric, HAPPY BACK TO SCHOOL!
